DAISY UK – VI Sports Day Manchester 18th June

Daisy Delivered inclusive sports to over 60 blind and partially sighted children, some with complex needs, at the sports city Manchester, the goal ball was fantastic but the climax was unbelievable with all children participating in the tug of war, the determination, motivation, perspiration, was inspirational, the children were thrilled when they received their medals and had the opportunity to hold the Paralympic torch, kindly brought in by the marvellous, Ruth Warmsley. big thanks to all those who made it possible a great big thank you to Helen wood from guide dogs, the Lancastrian, vi hi, the athletics and cricket coaches, all the support staff most importantly all the wonderful children that participated in sport, with determination and a great big smile.

Dave Kelly MD of Daisy UK, gave a blind football demonstration, cumulating in the Kelly flick, hopefully this will inspire the children to join Ruth Warmsley's blind and partially sighted football teams based in Manchester, as well as participating in the other sports that were showcased on the day, I do believe we were in the presence of future Paralympians. They just don’t know it yet...
