What is Foundation Learning?

Foundation learning provides an opportunity for young people to undertake an alternative educational path that allows you to add to your school results and prepares you to continue on to college or help in finding a job. Daisy Inclusive UK offers a variety of level 1,2 and 3 courses in Maths, English and ICT as well as awards in "Social and Personal Development". Foundation Learning Entry 2 Award for Personal and Social Development
This qualification enables learners to develop their personal and social development skills whilst gaining confidence and self-esteem. The units cover areas such as; developing own skills and setting goals; social skills, such as managing relationships and working with others; knowledge for living in the wider community, such as rights and responsibilities, and community action; and life skills, such as healthy living, budgeting, and preparing for work.
Foundation Learning Entry 2 Certificate for Personal and Social Development
This qualification is a larger and more in depth version of the Entry 2 Award for Personal and Social Development. It enables learners to develop their personal and social development skills whilst gaining confidence and self-esteem. The units cover areas such as: developing own skills and setting goals; social skills, such as managing relationships and working with others; knowledge for living in the wider community, such as rights and responsibilities, and community action; and life skills, such as healthy living, budgeting, and preparing for work.

Functional Skills English Entry Level 1 and 2
The aim of Functional English is to ensure learners have a good command of communication skills: reading, writing, speaking and listening, and can apply these skills in everyday situations. Daisy UK offers entry level 1 and 2 courses that will give you useful skills in english. These skills will prepare you for tasks such as writing job applications and searching the internet.
Functional Skills Maths Entry Level 1, 2 and 3
The aim of functional Maths is to supply young people with the maths skills needed in every day life as well as provide a pathway into further levels of education.
Functional Skills Maths Level 1 and 2
These qualifications provide accreditation of a wide range of mathematical skills in real-life settings so that young people can use the mathematical skills they develop in a functional way throughout life. These accredications provide a route for progression through to higher achievement.
Functional Skills ICT Entry Level 1, 2 and 3
Daisy UK offers qualifications in ICT to provide young people with knowledge, skills and understanding of ICT which they can use in real life contexts relating to life, learning and work.
Functional Skills ICT Level 1 and 2
Daisy UK's Level 1 and 2 qualification in ICT expands on the work of the entry level qualifications. These qualifications provide young people with useful transferable skills which will help when progressing into work or other forms of education.
