Visual and Disability Awareness through Sport Workshop


Daisy Inclusive UK is hosting a Visual and Disability Awareness through Sport workshop at the Daisy Nucleus Academy (DNA), 2 Barnes Street, Everton, Liverpool, L6 5LB on Tuesday 28th July 2015. It will run from 10am until 4pm, with registration from 9.30 - 9.45am. Costs are £20.00 per person, which includes lunch and refreshments.

The workshop covers:

  • Awareness of the needs of blind, partially sighted and disabled people.
  • Learn how, with the right help and adaptations, disabled people can be included in sports & leisure
    activities.
  • How to communicate effectively with someone who is disabled.
  • Gain key personal skills and develop empathy, confidence, self-esteem and team cohesion.
  • Greater spatial awareness and understanding of the body & mind.
  • Learn the benefits of reverse inclusion, helping disabled and non-disabled young people
    take part in an inclusive sports environment, on a level playing field and most of all, how to make it fun!!
  • Highlights the benefits of a truly inclusive multi-sports session.
  • Provide support from point of contact to the point of delivery.
